Item #: 1104 Rare Confederate Secession Flag This is a super Rare CS Secession Flag. Made at the very Start of the War or just after, & found in a home in Boonsboro Maryland. The Canton lays on top of the War or Blood Strip. On 99.5% of all US flags the Canton is on a white strip. You do see some US Flags from Time of War with the Canton on this War Strip, but it is very rare. This Flag also has 13 Stars & only 9 strips, not 13 like most all US Flags. We belive this was made to show that there were only 9 Sourthern States at the time this Sourthern Flag was made & the 9th state to take to the CSA was Arkansas very early in May 1861. When the South went to War there were 9 States that were with her, more were to come. The 13 Stars are for the States that the South hoped would come to be the States of the Confederate cause. I have had this rare Flag put away & I will now offer it for sell. It is being framing at a cost of 1200.00 The flag is about 60” x 37”, so 5 feet x 3 feet, with 4 inches border, it requires 68” x 44”. So the finished mounted flag will be nearly 5 feet 8" wide by 3 feet 8" high when it’s hanging on a wall.
