For its latest Haute Joaillerie release, Bulgari draws inspiration from the wonders of nature and the city of light

Bulgari’s latest high jewelry collection,Eden, the garden of wonders“, offers several different versions of paradise, including a rather literal tribute to the divine guardian.

The Italian luxury house has mastered the art of evoking the vast animal kingdom, but is renowned for its snake-inspired motif, which slips into necklaces, bracelets and watches. and rings. The serpentine has been a staple of home design since the 1940s; according to ancient roman mythology, reptiles symbolize fertility, rebirth and protection.

Each unique piece in the collection of 140 accessories evokes a wonder of the natural world. The Fleurs d’Eden necklace combines tourmalines, diamonds, carnelians, amethysts and emeralds: a dazzling bouquet of colors and an array of precious stones associated with more ornamental gems. Another necklace is inspired by an Italian fern.

The timepieces are masterful, sculptural assemblages of jeweled flora (with added butterflies) that push the boundaries of form and celebrate the random and wondrous aspects of nature. They would be impressive as bracelets and cuffs even without the Swiss Pinnacle watchmaking. Bulgari craftsmen spent 4,400 hours creating the breathtaking Giardino Dell’Eden tourbillon. It is composed of 6,500 stones, a mixture of Paraiba cabochon, emeralds, garnets, pink tourmalines, opals, rubies, multicolored sapphires and diamonds. For a slightly less spectacular look, the wearer can detach part of it and wear it as a brooch. He truly stands in a class of his own.

But Bulgari steps completely out of the garden and into another kind of paradise – the sanctuary of lovers of Paris. “Tribute to Paris” is Bulgari’s stunning ode to the city and its special bond with the Roman luxury supplier (Bulgari’s collections are traditionally launched in the Place Vendôme flagship). It took Bulgari craftsmen 2,000 hours to construct this intricate piece.

The heart of the necklace is a massive 35.53 carat cabochon-cut Colombian emerald, adorned with encrusted emeralds and handcrafted diamonds that echo the silhouette of the Eiffel Tower, a tribute that is both stunning and subtle symbol par excellence of the city.
